Okay, so I love twirling brides. There is something about a pretty dress that makes our inner little girl come out! If the dress can twirl, we are going to twirl! Here are the twirling brides from 2016!
Alright, ya’ll. The past two weeks, life happened, and I got off track with updating. I haven’t gain or lost weight. However, I am back with a vengeance. I want to lose this weight. I want to be under 200 lbs by December 1st. Here is how I am going to do it:
- ONLY water to drink. I have been really good about not drinking coke, however I am still drinking sweet tea and milk. One day, all I drank was milk. Which is fine if it were 8 oz. I’m pretty sure I drank 32 oz that day.
- Eating only white meat. I love steak, and burgers. It also doesn’t help that there’s a great burger place within a five minute walk from me. So, no more red meat for this month.
- 10,000 steps a day. I went to the park with my family the other day, and it was when I was feeling down about my weight. I weighed myself the next day, and was surprised by the lower number. Paul said we put in 5,000 steps that day. What?! That didn’t feel like much. So I am going to start using my Fitbit again.

Jamie & Daniel tied the knot at The Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington. This wedding made me laugh, cry, and showed me how much family can come together in celebration. The ceremony was filled with joy and the reception full of fun loving people who danced the night away. Their theme was “Best Day Ever!” It was truly the Best Day Ever!

Okay, so I weighed myself this morning and am 207.6 pounds. That means I reached my goal that I set. After two weeks of no progress, this was a nice change. Now I am going to try to reach 200 next week. I’m pumped!
But, Kristen, that’s 7.6 pounds in one week! Yes, I know. Here’s the thing. I haven’t been exercising. I will walk, and find activities to walk, but not actually exercise. So, I am going to actually start P90X again. I will concentrate on the weight loss cardio program they have set.
In other good news, usually my resting heart rate is around 90 bpm. Yesterday, it was 80 bpm. 19 pounds definitely takes off some stress from my heart! However, I went to the doctor a few months ago about chest pains. I didn’t think a whole lot about it, but I finally followed up with them this week. There is an abnormality on my ekg. I don’t know if it’s anything to worry about, but appreciate prayers.
My favorite meal this week was Ranch Baked Pork Chops. Yummy! Really simple to make. Take the pork chops and any veggies you like. Place in a single layer on aluminum foil covered pan. Drizzle olive oil, sprinkle ranch dressing packet, garlic, salt, and pepper over the pork chop and veggies. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20ish minutes and then broil for 2 more minutes.
Super yummy! Be sure to check out Deanna’s progress on her page! Thanks for reading!
This amazing engagement session takes place at Jacobson Park. This is where Ryan proposed. Family and friends all stood by while he asked Andrea to be his wife. It was truly a special event from all the details they have told me. We went back to where he popped the question, of course! I’ll let you guess exactly where. I had so much fun at this session. It felt as though I were talking with old friends throughout our time together. Congratulations, Andrea & Ryan! I hope you like your sneak peek!

Everything about this wedding was gorgeous and fun! I absolutely loved Lauren’s gown. Her flowers were colorful and rich, and the venue was amazing. Everywhere we turned was another photo opportunity. The Glen Willis House is truly a beautiful place. I hope you love their wedding!

Okay, so, I haven’t lost weight, but I haven’t gained it either. I HAVE to start getting active. I don’t know why this is such a block for me. When I was doing P90X, I enjoyed it. I always felt more energized after working out, and yet it is still a major block. I have to get over this. So my goal for this week is to get more active.
Everyday I will choose to do something that will get me out of the house. I must do one of the following every day:
- Go to the park.
- Walk the trail.
- Fly a kite.
- Go to Mammoth Cave.
- Mini Golf.
- Horseback Riding.
Okay, so I have to do at least one of these things a day. I know it’s not P90X, but it will get me out of the house and walking around.
So, my favorite meal this week was Chicken Tortilla Soup. Yummy! Click here for the recipe!
My goal weight next week is 207 pounds. Let’s do it! Don’t forget to check out Deanna’s progress!
Okay, this week I gained a pound, and I won’t lie. It discouraged me. I blew my diet yesterday because of that discouragement, and I feel super guilty for doing so. This is usually how it starts to go downhill for me. Normally it starts by being hard on myself, then guilt eating which leads to more guilt, and it’s a vicious cycle. Not today. I can’t do this again. Here is why:
- My clothes are starting to fit better. I don’t shop often, and it’s mainly because I just want to avoid seeing the high number on my clothes. So, my clothes had gotten a little tight. Now they are fitting better, and some are even getting loose! I love that feeling and don’t want to give it up.
- I feel more confident. Yes, a pound was gained this week, but 16 were lost. I am still way lower than my original weight. I can tell a difference already, and it gives me a bit more confidence.
- Junk food makes me uncomfortable. If I eat anything deep fried now, I can tell within a couple of hours that my body isn’t used to it anymore. Same with soda. It almost burns my throat now that I am used to water. This is good! It means my body is adjusting to healthier foods.
- I don’t want to fail again. I have failed to really push through and get healthy so many times before. The last time was a year ago, and I fell into the vicious cycle of guilt eating and gained more weight than when I started an exercise program. I won’t let this happen again.
So this week, I am going to amp it up a little. Instead of goals, I am going to post everyday on my Instagram my lunch and what I am doing for exercise that day. This will not be on my business IG, but my personal one. Follow me @kristendellis on IG for updates. Don’t forget to check out Deanna’s progress!
I apologize for posting a day late again. My Fridays have been getting really busy lately. Let me know what obstacles you have overcome in your weight loss journey!
I have to say this was one of the most creative weddings I have photographed. Emily and Joe love books, and it shines in their details. They wed in Gratz Park in downtown Lexington on a beautiful summer day. Their reception took place in the Carnegie Center, which was Lexington’s public library until the 1980’s. How perfect of a venue for book lovers! My favorite part of the day was their first look. You can truly see the love in their eyes. I hope you love this fun and energetic couple’s wedding as much as I did!
Congratulations, Emily and Joe! Tell us your favorite photo in the comments below! Thanks for reading!
Tucked away in the countryside of Nicholasville, Vanesa and Andrew were getting ready for their wedding. It was a beautiful day, and the ceremony overlooked a winding creek. They shared their first kiss as the sun was setting behind the trees, providing a perfectly picturesque scene. When they smile at each other, even for a moment, it tells the entirety of their love story. They are simply overjoyed when they are with each other.
Congratulations, Vanesa & Andrew! Tell the happy couple your favorite photos in the comments below! Thanks for reading!
Yesterday’s schedule got a little hectic for me, which is why I am posting this a little late. So, without further ado…
Boom! I am down 17 pounds! My clothes that were too tight are starting to fit well. My clothes that fit well are starting to get loose!
According to my reward system, I am due for a new magazine subscription and a mani/pedi. I am very excited, and I can’t wait until I am under 200. I also can’t believe it has taken me two years to really get my act together.
There is a fitness meme out there that says, “A year from now you’ll thank yourself.” If I had started this a year ago, I would already be under 200 and possibly to my goal weight. No more waiting!
The past week, we have been going to the local park. It has a playground for Gabe and a wonderful shady dog park for Bear. It also has a nice trail for walking/running. I will be continuing this for next week. It gets all of us out of the house and a little more active.
My favorite meal from this week was a recipe I found on Pinterest. One Pot Spicy Sausage Skillet. Paul and I love spicy food, and this was spicy and flavorful! I added all the ingredients up and one serving is around 388 calories! Score!
My goals for this week:
- Walk the trail everyday.
- Start a push-up challenge.
- Start a healthy recipe collection.
Also, here is a before and after:

Soooo, I finally went to the doctor on Tuesday. She told me I have pneumonia. So, needless to say, I have been taking it easy for the past few days. I feel much better after the medications, but still have a cough. It’s not as intense as it was on Saturday, though. Since I have hardly done anything health wise, other than watching what I eat, I will simply repeat my goals from last week.
I am down to 215.2 pounds. So, not a complete bust for the week. I am happy it went down a little as opposed to gaining weight. I have a feeling this week will be an awesome week as far as fitness.
My favorite meal from this week was Shrimp Scampi from Olive Garden. My husband and I celebrated our four year anniversary this week, and that was our meal. I am so proud of myself! I only had one breadstick. Ask anyone who knows me… bread is like my candy. I did get strawberry cheesecake for our anniversary dessert. It is the Walmart version, so at least the servings are small. That was my cheat this week.
So, next week I am going to go to the dog park everyday, cook more at home, and find a free activity to do that will help get me in shape! Don’t forget to check out Deanna’s blog for her progress!
